memories

Sometimes when I'm listening to the radio in my car, I hear a song that reminds me of my childhood and the days when all of the Korday girls lived at home in our little town-house and had simple lives playing together all day long...making huge messes that we never enjoyed cleaning up.  Here are just a few songs that I love simply cause they are comforting and bring me back to those wonderful days. I love you girls and you three are my dearest, most treasured girl friends along with mom!!! Hope you have a wonderful week LOVE you more than you could even imagine.

New Attitude 2008

We're back from Kentucky and still catching up on loss of sleep (at least I am). New Attitude '08 was simply a blast!! We arrived in Louisville around 2:30 Saturday afternoon and hung out til around 7:30. Josh Harris spoke from Jeremiah 15:16 "Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for i am called by your name, O Lord of hosts." He asked the question, "What is your attitude towards God's word, and does it have meaning to your life?" Those were some loaded questions for me. He compared the responses of Josiah, Jehoikim, and Jeremiah to the word of God. Wish i could go into detail, but that would take forever, so there's a brief overview. After the message, we all split up into Community groups. Josh Dowling and Steven Wood were the only other people from our church in my group. That was so fun being with them. Our group leader had us introduce ourselves and share our testimony. It was awesome to hear how the Lord drew each individual to himself in such different ways. After that, we walked to the "Neighborhood" to buy shirts. The Neighborhood was kind of like the Bookstore/Art gallery.
Every night, we would stay up til 2:30, and sometimes 3:00 am playing games, having fellowship in the hotel halls, walking around Louisville, and listen to the Hunts, Gabe, Caleb, Tyler, & Zelos play amazing music together.
I roomed with Jenni Hunt, Melissa Smith and Rachael Myhill. We had a blast and, umm... remember that one night, gals, that we couldn't stop talking and laughing even though we were like DEAD TIRED??? That was definitely ONE of my highlights!!!! I met three girls from Maryland in my community group and hung out with them a little. They were so sweet and we all hit it off right away.
Sunday, Mark Dever taught on "The authority of scripture". That was another amazing message. That afternoon, Al Mohler had a Bible question & answer time. Most of it was too deep for me to understand, but i definitely enjoyed listening as we chewed on yummy chocolate candy Mel and Mag had stuffed in their purses. :) That night C,J. Mahaney spoke on "God's Word and our Feelings" That was another very excellent sermon. I would recommend everyone who missed out on the conference to listen to the messages online. I felt like I simply wanted to sit down and THINK after every one of them. Such good teaching and very full of specific application.
Monday morning Eric Simmons preached and that afternoon and evening, John Piper taught. He was one of my favorite speakers. If I had to briefly describe him, i would say he reminds me of a father who is extremely advanced in wisdom and knowledge and who has a passionate desires for his children to understand the simple truths of God and his Word. He taught on the life of William Tyndale and "Fighting for Faith with God's Word".
The last morning, C.J. Mahaney taught on how we really study the Bible. I took almost 30 pages of notes on the trip and am so excited to review what the Lord has taught me. Even there, the Lord opened my eyes to sins i had grown numb to and was greatly saddened by, but he was so faithful to remind me of his great promises and I am thrilled to seek Him in battling those areas.
We were supposed to arrive back home Tuesday @ around 10:30 PM, but because of bad weather in Newark, where our layover was, Kaitlin Richards, Rachael Liz and I didn't end up getting home til close to 3:30 AM...AAAAAAHHHH!!! We made the most of it and listened to music, wrote in our journals and ate TONS of treats at the airport. Love you girls and had a blast flying with you. It was also so good to see Megan Shaw, Brittany, kerri, Ryan and Julian Bendinelli, and the Shanks. We love you guys.
I truly couldn't pick one thing as my highlight, for it was all one whole highlight for me. I can't wait for next year. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Wednesday Night

Last night was my night to make dinner, so I thought it would be fun to have Rach join us. She offered to come over early & help me, so of course, I readily accepted. :) thanks girl!! We had a blast making the meal together and just as fun eating it. (Thanks Aunt Jen for your Chicken Salad recipe, we LOVE it). After dinner, mom graciously said she would clean up for us so we could do something. We decided to go driving "around town" till we thought of something to do. We finally came up with the brilliant idea of taking pictures by honeysuckle... Why? I'm not sure. We were then on the hunt for those sweet-smelling clumps of little, white flowers that grow on the side of the road. We ended up @ the church, back by the pond. HAHA (as much as we want to be adventurous, we never seem to stray too far from HOME). Anyways, I want to thank you, RACHAEL KATHERINE, for being such an incredible friend to me. (I truly mean that!!) Thank you for your thoughtfulness and your genuine love for life. I have seen you battle sin and humble yourself before the Lord... I have watched you lay down your life for the sake of the gospel... and I am so inspired by your zealous desire to draw ever closer to your Savior. I know that we are as close as we are not just because we enjoy the same things or are in the same season of life, but because the Lord is the foundation of our friendship. You are so fun to hang with and I know that it's mostly b/c we always enjoy talking about the Lord and asking each other those hard-to-answer questions. Sometimes we cry, but most of the time, we end up laughing so hard we can hardly breath. Love you tons!!!!!!!

I found my prince guys!!

Fun things in life

YAY... i'm so excited that I get a chance to take a photography class this summer at TCC. I have always been intrigued with the art of photography and I love to see the different personalities and styles of each individual photographer come out in their work. In the last year, I've found myself bringing my camera in the car wherever I go so that I don't miss a photographic opportunity... I know mom isn't too excited about me being distracted from my driving, so I try to be safe and pull off the road!!! :) ...but when the sky is so vibrant as the sun sets on my way home from work, I can't help but think of what a wonderfully careful and detailed artist my Savior is and It makes me so excited in my heart. I've kinda been wondering lately if I should experiment and see if I can pretend to have an "eye" too :) Liz has always inspired me with her eye for color, beauty, dimension and linear perspectives, so here I go! The best part of the class is that I'll be able to take it with one of my VERY dear friends, Jenni Hunt, and maybe my sis Katy!!!

Saturday at our house

Well, our Saturday was quite busy. Laura B. had spent the night on Friday and we stayed up pretty late so we slept in till about 10:30, so nice after a long week of school. When we finally got out of bed my Dad told us he would make us breakfast and of course we didn't turn that offer down! After some good omelets and sausage and a little homework, the chores began. Isabel and I worked in our rooms, Dad cleaned out the garage, Mom worked around our house, Garrett cleaned our car, Laura did her homework, and mary had spent the night at Alyssa's house so she wasn't around for a while.

Isabel went through all of her winter and summer clothes, she is growing so quickly that clothes don't last long.

... a little overwhelmed.

My room was in desperate need of attention!

Garrett working hard to clean out our car. Good job bud, it looks great!!

Laura studying for upcoming tests, she is very diligent with her schoolwork-a good example to me: )

My room after some serious cleaning
After a long day if work the five of us kids went for slurpees. They were sooo good! we didn't get any pictures with them because they were all gone by the time we got home. So that about sums up our Saturday. I am so grateful for my family and the fun times we have, even if it's just doing chores! I am reminded on days like these how good God is to me. Try and take some time to recount all of the blessings the Lord has given you, it will bring much joy and gratefulness to your life! Hope everyone has a blessed week : )

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISETTE & JORDAN!!! I love you both soooo much and feel very blessed to have you as sister and brother-in-law. Liz, I love that the Lord is drawing us closer in this season of life! I always look forward to seeing you after work, and on the weekends, I love when just you and I get to hang out and be bums...you know what I mean?!? :) I am the luckiest gal to have the BEST OLDEST sister in the WORLD!!! Liz, I love to watch you and especially your walk with the Lord. You are one of the most joyful people I know, and it's because you are consistently growing in your trust, fear and love for our Savior. Jord, you don't know how thankful I am for you. You are one of my very close friends and I respect you SO much. I like the way you look at life with a smile :)... Thanks for all the times I call you and Nelly crying and you guys are so willing to pray for me. I appreciate it so much! It was very hard for me to let Nell go, but knowing she was safe with you made it tons easier. Love you both always and forever ~Jackie

We went to Lone Star for Jord's b'day and Cheese Cake Factory for Lizzy's! Both were extremely yummy
